Prior to founding KP Design in 2008, Katie worked as a landscape designer for Katherine Field and Associates, Inc. in Newport, RI, where she managed multiple high-end residential projects from 2007-2008.  Katie also worked at the Boston branch of ValleyCrest Landscape Development, the largest landscape contractor in the country, as a landscape estimator from 2001-2004.

From 2009-2015, Katie also worked as the head gardener for the Newport Restoration Foundation, working part-time and seasonally on the seaside grounds of Rough Point, the historic Doris Duke estate on Newport’s famed Bellevue Avenue.
